
Academic Senate Policy for Distribution of Campuswide Email to all UCLA Senate Faculty
The UCLA Division of the Academic Senate will send mail messages or announcements to all Senate faculty via the campus' Academic Senate faculty listserve based on requests emanating from committees or agencies of the Senate itself. Requests should be made directly to the Divisional Senate Chair through the chair of the standing committee or council, ad hoc committee, task force or joint Senate/Administration committee. Each request should include a draft text of the communication and state whether the request is for an individual email or if it could be incorporated into the next regularly scheduled quarterly electronic newsletter. In response to faculty requests that campuswide emails be held to a minimum, Senate agencies are encouraged to convey their messages via the electronic quarterly newsletter whenever feasible. In the case of individual emails, a 48-hour lead time is requested; in the case of newsletter communications, submissions are requested 7 days prior to publication with all due dates posted on the Senate website at www.senate.ucla.edu.
