Taskforce on Undergraduate Education in a Research Context

The Academic Senate has joined with the Administration in the appointment of a Task Force on Undergraduate Education at a Research Context, charged with examining this issue and other issues central to enhancing the undergraduate experience at UCLA. The charge for this task force will be to examine what the University is doing now to provide an excellent undergraduate education taking advantage of the research opportunities which exist on the campus. The Task Force will also examine the issue of funding in the College and provide suggestions on how we can enhance the world class undergraduate education we provide to the outstanding students who select to come here.

Given their expertise and excellent work on the Semester review report it should come as no surprise that we have asked Ray Knapp, Chair of the Undergraduate Council, and Judy Smith, Vice Provost of the College to serve as co-chairs of this new task force. Ray and Judy also served as co-chairs of the Task Force that prepared the report on switching to a semester system.
